Well (my favorite way to start a post)......another week in the books. That's how life goes right? This one has gone by fast. Casey was exhausted yesterday while he laid around and rested. I think it finally hit him how tired and worn he really is. His schedule Monday through Friday starts at 7:45 am and end at 9:00 pm and is constant activity.

Through a string of events at school this week, Casey has a couple opportunities to get some more financial aid which would be awesome. We don't know anything for sure. Maybe nothing. We'll see what happens.

He is going to take two breaks from school...one in July and one for the baby in November. So to make up for that, he is going to double course (take two classes in the same 3 week period) a couple times. Thankfully he will still be able to graduate on time which is really good since Baby Eldridge will definitely be out of the womb at that point. :)

I started looking at baby stuff. Walking into Babies R Us can be a little intimidating when you haven't been in the baby world. So I asked numerous friend mommies their must have list....what they liked...what they didn't like. It helped a lot when walking into Babies R Us for a second time to have some clue. There were familiar themes in all the advice which helped even more. It's funny because as I go aisle to aisle, I'll see an item like a baby wipe warmer and think, "That seems unnecessary. [I start to think about it more.] Hmmmmm...but maybe I do need it. I don't know...what if the wipes are too cold on the babies skin." And then I ask my friends and they say, "No. It dries out the wipes and uses lots of batteries." It completely eliminates any doubt and mental dilemmas I am having. :)

I have been thankful for advice in my baby product education. I don't want what I don't need but how do you know? How do you make wise decisions when you don't have a clue? That's where I find myself. Casey just laughs at me. He, of course, doesn't care what stroller or bottle we have. However, he loves anything that references a Dad in anyway. Like we saw a tshirt that said, "If you think I am cute, you should see my Dad." He thinks it's great.

Our friends, Ethan and Lindsay Weibye, just had their first baby, Beckett. Lindsay recommended this book and video series, The Happiest Baby on the Block. I thought it was really interesting and helpful.

  1. Funny, I had just heard someone else recommend that book the other day. Will have to check it out too.
