17 week ultrasound pictures*

It's really hot here in Arizona. We have had a surprisingly mild June until now but now we have hit the 100s. But NO humidity which really does make a big difference. Casey works out in it in the morning so I hope that it goes quickly for his sake.

School update: Casey is in his second week of Climate Control. It's his 6th class. He loves it and the teacher which is very nice. He is learning a lot and loves it.

Baby update: Well...I think the baby is good as far as I know. He's growing and I am enjoying being pregnant.

We are excited about St. Louis. Just a few more weeks!

Kind of a crazy week it seemed.

Tuesday...the BIG day. We learned that our baby is a boy. Casey was super excited. As everyone knows, Casey had extremely strong feelings about wanting a boy so thankfully we can check that off the list. Boy...done. :) I always have such a fun time at the ultrasound appointments watching the baby. He looks healthy and has all of his parts.

After our doctor's appointment on Tuesday, we planned to hang out in Scottsdale and get lunch. But our plans were cut short when we learned we locked our keys in the car. Onstar wouldn't work and my Uncle was out of town. Thankfully Casey's pal from school came and got us.

Friday....Casey finished his last day of his 5th class. He is glad to have it over. He got a 99! He was excited.

Saturday.....My cousin, Josh, is in town playing baseball because he was drafted with the Kansas City, Royals. We went out to eat.

Sunday....We met up with all of our family here for Father's Day. My grandparents drove into town earlier that day. And then we all, 13 of us, headed to watch Josh pitch in his first professional baseball game ever! He did so well. He was brought in in the last inning and got all 3 outs. The last out was a strike out.

*Casey has been excited all week about the Cardinal game on Sunday night baseball. He planned his whole Sunday around it AND made sure to sport his cardinal stuff today.

*The rest of our weekend was pretty busy. Saturday night Casey and I rented Lost Season 3 and made pulled our mattress into family room to watch the show on our TV....like we are 7 years old. It was fun.

*This is the last week of Casey's 5th class. He's excited.

*We are visiting St. Louis July 11-15th. Super excited.

*AND the big event this week: the sex of Baby Eldridge will (hopefully) be known. :) We are super, super excited.

Week 16

Casey journaled this week. BUT I just realized a typo so I am going to have to redo it. Blah.

The next picture I call the "I can't believe my wife is making me do this" look. Classic. It's a little challenging to take a picture of ourselves with the camera positioned just perfectly on a timer. Takes a lot of patience. Thankfully it worked out.

Well (my favorite way to start a post)......another week in the books. That's how life goes right? This one has gone by fast. Casey was exhausted yesterday while he laid around and rested. I think it finally hit him how tired and worn he really is. His schedule Monday through Friday starts at 7:45 am and end at 9:00 pm and is constant activity.

Through a string of events at school this week, Casey has a couple opportunities to get some more financial aid which would be awesome. We don't know anything for sure. Maybe nothing. We'll see what happens.

He is going to take two breaks from school...one in July and one for the baby in November. So to make up for that, he is going to double course (take two classes in the same 3 week period) a couple times. Thankfully he will still be able to graduate on time which is really good since Baby Eldridge will definitely be out of the womb at that point. :)

I started looking at baby stuff. Walking into Babies R Us can be a little intimidating when you haven't been in the baby world. So I asked numerous friend mommies their must have list....what they liked...what they didn't like. It helped a lot when walking into Babies R Us for a second time to have some clue. There were familiar themes in all the advice which helped even more. It's funny because as I go aisle to aisle, I'll see an item like a baby wipe warmer and think, "That seems unnecessary. [I start to think about it more.] Hmmmmm...but maybe I do need it. I don't know...what if the wipes are too cold on the babies skin." And then I ask my friends and they say, "No. It dries out the wipes and uses lots of batteries." It completely eliminates any doubt and mental dilemmas I am having. :)

I have been thankful for advice in my baby product education. I don't want what I don't need but how do you know? How do you make wise decisions when you don't have a clue? That's where I find myself. Casey just laughs at me. He, of course, doesn't care what stroller or bottle we have. However, he loves anything that references a Dad in anyway. Like we saw a tshirt that said, "If you think I am cute, you should see my Dad." He thinks it's great.

Our friends, Ethan and Lindsay Weibye, just had their first baby, Beckett. Lindsay recommended this book and video series, The Happiest Baby on the Block. I thought it was really interesting and helpful.

It's kind of wierd that a little person is inside of me.

I'm excited about Baby Eldridge growing these next few weeks.

I'm excited to report that Casey got Outstanding Student of the Course award (which means he got the highest class and lab grades and only one person in the class can get it) for the third time in a row and he's on the Director's List (like Dean's list)!!!! He's doing so well and his classes are by no means easy. He's been very competive when it comes to his grades. It says it keeps him learning and motivated which is good. And I always ask him if he is learning and retaining the information, which he says he is. Anyway....GO CASEY!!!
